as a child god was big


he was love

he was nice

he was sweet

but now?


in the ordinary times?

in the harrowing whole of a life?

in the slivers of broken pieces lined up to make years?


his wildness

his evasiveness

his silence

his unpredictability



who is he?

what are his motives?

why does he do what he does?

empower what he empowers?

permit what he permits?

extract what he extracts?

entrust what he entrusts?

travel as he travels?

attack as he attacks?

caress what he caresses?

disappear as he disappears?

who is this mystery?


he is an altogether un-catch-able wind…
